Another day, another movie rumor. Today we share a report providing an Ant-Man 3 production start date rumor. Officially, Ant-Man 3 doesn’t exist yet, but we know it’s coming. Star Paul Rudd has remained tight lipped about plans for the threequel, whilst teasing something will happen. Then we have Michael Douglas indicating that Ant-Man 3 news will be happening soon, though this was towards the early days of Coronavirus.
Most fans expected Ant-Man 3 to be announced at SDCC this year. SDCC is not happening now in the conventional manner, with a virtual at home online event instead. The latest rumors around SDCC say that Marvel Studios might not even show anything during the event. However, the scoopers at Murphy’s Multiverse have come forward with some Ant-Man 3 details. Murphy himself said he was initially reticent to share this information because the current climate is so fluid and reactionary.
What Murphy did say was that plans are in place for Ant-Man 3 to begin production on June, 21st of next year. The outlet says the film was originally scheduled to begin in January or February of 2021, however those plans have shifted due to Coronavirus. We already know Ant-Man 3 has a new writer in Jeff Loveness (Rick and Morty) from a THR report earlier this year. Finally, the outlet says they have heard rumblings of big plans for Ant-Man 3, but again no further details.

As always, take this information with a pinch of salt, but Murphy has a good track record. If we assume this information is correct and Ant-Man 3 starts filming in June of next year, we can make some release date assumptions. The outlet thinks late 2022, to early 2023. I’d guess we could be looking more likely at the early 2023 slot. There is one slot left open in 2022, but I have a feeling something else is planned for that slot. I guess we will find out more in time?
