Bungie Confirms That Destiny 2 Will Get An Xbox Series X Upgrade

Resident Evil Producer joins Bungie. Probably to work on their Destiny

Games Studio Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2 will get an Xbox Series X upgrade when the new console launches. Last week’s Xbox event showcased many games getting automatic Series X upgrades. One developer’s logo I noticed was Bungie, but then there was no word from Bungie themselves about what this could mean, until now.

Destiny 2 was released on the Ps4 and Xbox One. However, the game also appears on PC, and has a much more slick feel on that platform. Now it appears those upgrades will be felt on the SeX, and probably PS5 when those consoles launch. Check out the official post from Bungie below.

One assumes from the wording of this post, that the PS5 gamers will also get the same Destiny 2 upgrade, though nothing official on that yet. The question I wonder, is whether there will still be a big player base on Destiny 2 when next-gen arrives?

Destiny 2 will get an Xbox Series X upgrade

Destiny 2 is currently going through one of its many bad spells. The player base is dropping, complaints are ramping up, and gamers are just not happy with this year of Destiny 2 so far. Bungie will release a big ‘Year 4’ expansion for Destiny 2 around September/October time, and that does mean crossing over into next-gen territory. The rumored launch date for both Xbox SeX and PS5 is around November, but that could still change, and as yet no official dates have been set.

As a fan of the Destiny franchise, I want to see exactly what Bungie has planned before I buy the next expansion. Like many other players, I feel like the latter end of year 3 has been pretty poor for Destiny 2. I finished all the tasks I wanted to on Destiny 2 last week, for this season anyway. I now have to decide whether I want to pay 10 bucks for another underwhelming Season. Should I just skip the next Season and wait on the big expansion for Destiny 2 later this year?

I guess I will await to hear more official news before making a decision personally. However, perhaps a suitably large Year 4 expansion, with upgraded experience for next-gen, will bring players back? Any Destiny 2 fans here? Now it’s official that Destiny 2 will get an Xbox Series X upgrade, does this news excite any Destiny players? Leave your thoughts below as always.
