Ant-Man And The Wasp Post-Credits Scenes Explained

Disclaimer: This post contains spoilers Ant-Man and the Wasp and Avengers: Infinity War.

Where was Ant-Man in Avengers: Infinity War? This was a question many fans were asking after seeing the superhero team-up film. After all, it felt like all hands were on deck to take on the Mad Titan Thanos. The film does a solid job of answering what Scott Lang and co. were up to, and the two post-credits scenes connect directly to Infinity War.

The first scene starts off on the rooftop with Hank Pym, Janet, Hope, and Scott, where they’ve shrunk the Quantum Realm tunnel. Scott enters the Quantum Realm to help mine some healing energies to help out Ghost. After achieving his task, Scott is ready to come back, and Hope begins to count down. However, after the third number, she goes silent, and Scott is left in the Quantum Realm. He thinks it’s a joke at first, but we cut to the outside to see everyone’s been turned to dust.

We speculate this could all tie into the whole time travel rumors. Could Ant-Man be the guy spearheading the rescue, with him using the Quantum Realm to travel back in time? That’d be a fun film to watch and can really help to elevate Ant-Man’s position among the Avengers.

The second scene isn’t necessarily essential viewing, as it doesn’t really show us anything new, but it is…creepy. It takes place in Scott Lang’s house with an emergency broadcast system on-screen. We hear some drumming in the background before it’s revealed that Scott’s pet ant is playing the drums. It would be funny, but the sound of sirens and eerie silence kind of undercuts that. The screen cuts to black and the text “Ant-Man and the Wasp will return” pops up on screen. After a moment, it’s ended with a “?”

Of course, we know they will return, but it’s just a matter of HOW.

All I can say is that I hope someone is around to feed the ant before it dies.
