Arcane Season Two Is a Go with Netflix and Riot Games

Arcane on Netflix

One of the best-animated series right now is with Netflix’s Arcane based on the League of Legends video game from Riot Games.

The series is now sitting at a 100 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating. And this writer is definitely impressed with the artwork and storytelling. If a second season doesn’t happen, then it would be a Netflix travesty.

Luckily, Netflix and Riot Games came to an agreement to develop the second installment of this remarkable animated series.

“We’re beyond happy about the positive response to Arcane’s first season and are working hard with the creative wizards at Riot and Fortiche to deliver our second installment,” said Arcane co-creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee at a global fan event.

Although the plotline is kept under wraps, the confirmed voice cast of Hailee Steinfeld (Vi), Ella Purnell (Jinx), and Katie Leung (Caitlyn Kiramman) will reprise their voice roles.

Here is the synopsis of the series:

Set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, the story follows the origins of two iconic League champions—and the power that will tear them apart.

The numbers for the first season of Arcane were quite impressive with 34.2 million viewing hours in its first week. The series is still currently sitting in the top 10 in the United States since its November 6 streaming premiere date.

With the second season production underway, it is best to keep our excitement contained since it took nearly six years for its first season to come out. Of course, with everything in place with animation (both hand-drawn and CG art styles) and voice cast, they surely will cut that time significantly.

All nine episodes are available now on Netflix.

In the meantime, check out the announcement teaser for season two of Arcane below.
