Artificial Intelligence Engine Uses Preloaded Scripts To Create It’s Own Original Work

Artificial intelligence. The advancements made in this field can at times border on something truly frightening. It’s been said that if we aren’t careful, it won’t be long before a Skynet-like entity becomes our overlords. Personally, I still think there’s a long way to go before things get critical.

While it’s possible one day the robots may rise up, there are some aspects of life that still require a human touch, such as art. We use our tech to help us create and tell our wonderful stories that eventually become films, the writing part, the dialogue, character development and so on appears to still be one aspect of the process that only humans can handle.

In a Twitter post from Scriptbook, we see a page of a script written by an AI engine that was loaded with over 30,000 scripts and told to create something from them. While the dialogue will give you a good laugh or two it also shows us why it will still be a long time before AI will have the ability to deliver quality stories. Check it out below.

WARNING – Strong and offensive language.

Will Artificial Intelligence ever be able to grasp concepts such as irony, redemption and the many other concepts and emotions of human beings? While I’m not sure, I say if it ever does become possible, it won’t be for a long, long time. While the sentences are correct and technically make sense, they’re also so bizarre that they’re really only good for a laugh.

The A.I. understands how to string words together, but doesn’t seem to be able to grasp the story aspect. The creepiest part of this is that while the dialogue wouldn’t be anything usable, it does show that the AI has the ability to learn. I strongly suggest we be very careful with what we try to teach AI moving forward, and the tasks we apply to them.
