Brothers Joe and Anthony Russo have definitely delivered on giving fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe an epic close to their studios first saga. If you’ve seen the film, you know the plot revolves around time travel, and lots of it.

The brothers used the information they received from test screenings to do what they could to make the plot run smoother, and make is a little easier for audiences to follow. Joe Russo recently explained this practice during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“It’s a complicated plot for people to track — time travel. We were altering the rules of time travel in this movie and using multiverse time travel rules vs. Back to the Future rules that have really informed every time travel movie and television show since the release of that film. For us it was really about trying to get people to understand some of the time travel rules and how the plot was unfolding. It was only a few small things that we had to add to help alter people’s perception of the storyline.”

The ways the Russos use time travel in Endgame is one of my favorite in any film. I am a huge fan of time travel movies as well as the real life pursuit of the idea (I blame Back to the Future for this). My experience with time travel films allowed me to follow along without any real issues.
