Batman Isn’t Coming To CW’s Arrowverse, Because He’s Already A Part Of It

News came last month that the Arrowverse would be getting a little bit bigger. The small screen shared universe presented on the CW network will be adding the character of Batwoman. Yesterday, we learned that actress Ruby Rose (Orange is the New Black) had been cast in the lead role, and today network president, Mark Pedowitz, said there are no plans to bring Batman to the Arrowverse because he already exists within it.

“Batman already exists in the Arrowverse, because Thea Queen mentioned his name at one point.”

I am a little bit behind on Arrow, but I remember Oliver being the one that mentioned Bruce’s name at the beginning of Season 6. Though Thea could have also brought his name up at some point as well, as I said, I am not current.

I can’t exactly remember where I heard it, I want to say it was from a fellow LRM writer, but supposedly, DC won’t allow characters they have big screen plans for to appear on the small screen. Of course, if this is true, Flash must have been an exception. I do remember an interview with Cameron Manheim, who plays a version of the Joker on Fox’s Gotham, where he said they cannot refer to him as Joker on the show, and his character couldn’t even have green hair.
