Batwheels – The New DC Preschool Animated Series Where The Vehicles Are The Heroes

Batwheels

We know that it’s important to start kids young when it comes to comic books and their awesome characters. I know that I did this with my now 9-year-old daughter and she is a fan of all things DC and Marvel. Part of her love for the genre is some of the programmings that were available for her growing up. Specifically animated series like DC Superhero Girls, Teen Titans Go!, and The Batman. Now as she gets older DC has a variety of books and series that appeal to her age group. Recently we have seen DC do a better job of having content for fans of all ages.

With that thought, I would like to introduce you to the new preschool action-adventure comedy series, Batwheels. This new series is currently in production for Cartoon Network and HBO Max. This series is going to star some of the most heroic and iconic vehicles from the DC universe. It will air on Cartoon Network and HBO Max. Also globally across all Cartoon Network platforms.

“Batwheels is the perfect show to headline our new foray into preschool,” said Tom Ascheim, President, Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics (GKYAC). “I can’t wait for all the aspiring superheroes out there to meet this whole new batch of crime-fighters.”

Our group of incredible crimefighters is not Batman and Robin. But Batwheels, an awesome group of sentient super-powered crime-fighting vehicles defending Gotham City ALONG the Batfamily. Created by the Batcomputer, they are described as essential kids with little to no life experience. Their leader is Bam, the Batmobile. The rest of the group are made up of Bibi, the Batgirl Cycle, Red, the Redbird, Jett, the Batwing, and Buff, the Bat Truck.

They must navigate through the growing pains of being a newly formed super team. Also, the pains that come with just being a kid. Its described as a relatable and aspirational series that is going to follow the journey of this new dynamic team. They will thrill and entertain with their heroic adventures. As well as demonstrate to viewers the value of self-confidence, friendship, and teamwork.

Sam Register, President, Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios said: “From Batman: The Animated Series to Teen Titans Go!, superhero storytelling has definitely been one of our superpowers here at Warner Bros. Animation. We are so excited to bring that expertise over to the preschool space and take something that all kids love, cool vehicles, and give it a turbo boost with Batman!”

Batwheels is being produced by Warner Bros. Animation. Register is serving as an executive producer. Michael G. Stern is serving as co-executive producer. Simon J. Smith is the supervising producer and Steven Fink of Bang Zoom Ltd. is producer.

This looks like it could be a fun series to share with little ones. It will be interesting to see how they involve real human heroes with their vehicles. Then again it’s targeting pre-schoolers so too much shouldn’t be expected.
