She-Hulk could have a young Bruce Banner?
When it was announced that we would be getting She-Hulk as a Disney+ series, there were rightfully some real concerns. Personally, I’ve never really thought it would make a good leap to live-action, but a lot of concerns stemmed from Bruce Banner. Simply put, there is no She-Hulk without Bruce Banner, and given his state of being in the MCU, it would be quite the expensive enterprise to bring in an actual Hulk for the story.
So far, all rumors do seem to point to a potential appearance for Mark Ruffalo, but who says that’s the only form we’ll see him in? A new report from TheDirect indicates that we’ll see a younger version of Bruce. According to them, Marvel Studios is currently casting an actor around age 10 to play the young Hulk.

While this is not a confirmation, I do think this is a good sign that we’ll also be seeing Mark Ruffalo. Given that they will likely be taking time to flesh out the relationship between Bruce and cousin Jennifer Walters (aka She-Hulk), I think this bodes well for it connecting to an older set of characters. It also gives us a chance to see Bruce in a whole new light.
It could also paint some motivation for Bruce to ultimately give up some of his blood for her in a last-ditch effort to save her life. I’d love to think he’d be a regular on the series, but when we last saw Bruce, he was simpatico with “the other guy,” and walked around full-time as the jolly green giant. As such, it would still cost Marvel Studios a lot of money to realize his character for the small screen. And after we’ve seen him realized so well in Avengers: Endgame, I don’t know if we can just…go back to something worse.
