Last year, the Arrowverse crossover saw the introduction of actress Ruby Rose as Kate Kane, aka Batwoman. She had taken over as the protector of Gotham in Bruce Wayne’s absence, and was a bit more jaded for the experience. But, as we knew even then, the crossover was also being used as a backdoor pilot for the official series, and now we have our first look at that series.

The CW released a brand-new first look trailer for Batwoman, which will be showing off Kate Kane’s origins as the titular vigilante. In light of Bruce’s disappearance, she heads to the Batcave and gets is suit modified to fit her. As is always the case with these shows, it looks like they very much have the evolution of the suits in mind.

When we were introduced to Batwoman in the crossover, she had a look that was straight out of the comic books, but for this origin story, we’ll get to see the older takes on the costume that will, presumably, lead up to her current suit.
