It’s been rumored for year, then the rumors got hotter, and now the Beetlejuice 2 movie is confirmed to be in development by WB/D. CinemaCon is on this week and WB/D seemingly confirmed the news in their presentation, present at the event were ComicBook. Here is what the outlet had to say.
The panel kicked off just after 10:00 am PT with Warner Bros. executives taking the stage to the tune of “Barbie Girl,” with pink suits on. They promise Warner Bros. will remain the home for the best actors and filmmakers with a strong commitment to theatrical releases. A sizzle reel looks back at 100 years of films from Warner Bros. before looking to the future, with footage from films like Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, The Flash, Blue Beetle, Barbie, Furiosa, and more. Logos for Superman: Legacy, The Batman Part II, and Beetlejuice 2 are among many to wrap up the montage.
So all we have so far is a logo. However I think that’s confirmation enough for a movie the studio have never actually announced.

Details are as you’d imagine scarce. Last time we heard about this in the related article above there was not even a script in place that we knew of. One would imagine Michael Keaton will reprise his role as the titular deceased himself. Outside of that we know almost nothing else. Almost I said!
Insider Jeff Sneider claims that Jenny Ortega (Wednesday) has been offered a lead role in the movie. However that remains Barside Buzz territory for now. Check it out.
I'm told that Jenna Ortega at the very least has an offer to play Lydia Deetz's daughter in BEETLEJUICE 2, which is finally a go with Burton, Keaton, O'Hara and Ryder back. That's the word on the street…

I’m interested in a sequel because the world was interesting. However at the same time I never watched Beetlejuice and immediately started wondering about what happened next. It never felt like a movie we’d get a sequel for to me, but here we are.
So, it looks like the Beetlejuice 2 movie is confirmed to be in development by WB/D. are you excited for this sequel, or would it be better left well alone? Thoughts below as always.
