Since the finale of Picard Season 3 you may have come across the name Star Trek: Legacy? So what is this show about, and will it get made? Sadly we have more of answer for the first part of that question than the second, but there are positive signs. FoxLA spoke to various cast and executives after the Picard finale premiere. Most important was the chat with Terry Matalas and Trek boss Alex Kurtzman.
Matalas confirmed that Star Trek: Legacy would star Seven of Nine, Rafi and Jack Crusher (Picard) along with Sidney LaForge. However the showrunner of Picard Season 3 also indicated we may not be done with the previous generation. The OG cast featured prominently in Season 3, however it also felt like a final call of being the central protagonists. Matalas said he does not feel like we are done with them yet, though. The showrunner says these actors are still at the top of their game. As far as Matalas is concerned, he wants to have more stories left for them.
So If Star Trek: Legacy gets the greenlight, we could see cameos and more from some of the TNG crew. Cool, but will it get that greenlight? Trek boss Kurtzman was in no mood to confirm or deny anything. However, I would say his words still sound positive to me.

“Anything is possible.”
As for the fan’s already campaigning to get the show made?
“We’ve heard the fans loud and clear. There’es obviously more story to tell. So we’ll see.”
When the fans are this positive, Matalas made Season 3 such a success and he wants to do this show, I say let him. This was always my era of Star Trek and I’ll be very happy to see more adventures. Matalas even teased the possibility of exploring some more Deep Space Nine or Voyager characters in the show. Sign me up, as long as the writing is Picard Season 3 level and not the travesty that was Picard Season 2.
Make it so Kurtzman, engage the Star Trek: Legacy show.
