Who knows when we will see the film, but at least Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is moving ahead. Filming dates for the Doctor Strange sequel were revealed by star Benedict Cumberbatch in a new interview. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will now be directed by Sam Raimi, who replaces Scott Derrickson, director of Doctor Strange. Derrickson was also helming the sequel, until, the old ‘creative differences’ cropped up that is.
Cumberbatch caught up with Watch Time India about a manner of subjects. Though, not gonna lie, it’s mostly about watches, which interests me not one iota. But Cumberbatch also mentions when filming begins for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
“I’m in pre-production with the second Doctor Strange film, which is very exciting. We will start filming in late October or early November.”

So late October, early November is when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness kicks off. This pretty much follows the rumors about the filming dates we had heard previously (see related above). As I’ve said before, I also wonder about the release schedule possibly changing again? DS2 is well ahead of Spider-Man 3 in terms of production schedule. Yet, the web-slinger’s third entry was supposed to come out before the Doctor Strange sequel. That was before the recent changes and delays to Black Widow.
As I said up top, who really knows when we will see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? I’m not even sure Kevin Feige could accurately answer that question right now. I also would not bet on the running order remaining static. Already we have seen Shang-Chi move ahead of Eternals. Why, when Eternals is already complete, is unknown?
I guess we just have to wait and see. We have the filming dates for the Doctor Strange sequel, but when will it actually release? What are your thoughts. Leave them below if you can.
