Better Call Saul Season 5 Trailer Teases Return Of THIS Breaking Bad Character

Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk is rumored for a secret role within Marvel's Wonder Man series. Check it out.

Everyone has heard of Breaking Bad, it’s one of those TV shows that people recommend if you have not seen it yet. A decade or more since it hit there are still people discovering how good it is for the first time.  What you hear less of in terms of word of mouth promotion is the prequel to the show, known as Better Call Saul.

For four seasons now Better Call Saul has consistently surprised audiences. When the show was first announced, fans thought they knew what this would be like. But it was very different to what most fans predicted. Season 1 seemed so far away from the events of Breaking Bad that you wondered if they’d ever get there? But this is Jimmy’s story, the story of how Jimmy becomes Saul Goodman. Once you get past the even slower burn than Breaking Bad to begin with, you discover a delightful show in its own right.

This latest trailer promotes Season 5 beginning on February 23rd. The fifth season of the show is also going to be its second to last, something we didn’t know for sure until recently. All the pieces are in place, by the end of Season 4, Jimmy was well on the way to being Saul. The timeline of the show is moving closer and closer to where things began with Breaking Bad.

Anyway, take a look at the Season 5 trailer down below, which teases the return of a certain Breaking Bad character…

It’s Hank. The person is Hank.

Anyway, how it will all end up is anyone’s guess at this point. Sure, we know what happens to Jimmy, Gus and the other major players from Breaking Bad, but there are a lot of characters in this who never appeared in that show. One would imagine some dramatic conclusions to their story arcs across these final two seasons. You’d expect the biggest heartache to come in the form of Jimmy and Kim Wexler’s relationship. Clearly Jimmy is a bad influence on Kim and it remains to be seen how far that will go. All we can say for certain is that there is no mention of Kim Wexler in Breaking Bad whatsoever.

This season I also hope to learn more from the flash-forwards that occur, showing us Jimmy’s dull life post-Breaking Bad. The showrunners have hinted in the past that as we near the end, we would see more of Jimmy’s future. Especially since El Camino introduced us to the post BB life of Jessie, and revealed that Walter White did, in fact, die in that Breaking Bad finale. Could future Jimmy run into future Jessie at some point in their new lives? What would happen if they did?

I just can’t wait to start watching Season 5, and now I won’t have too much longer to wait. What do you think of the trailer and what are your hopes for the penultimate season of the show? Leave your thoughts below in the usual spot.
