On the heel of receiving a fourth season renewal of Big City Greens on the Disney Channel, the network also announced a movie musical based on the top Disney show of the network.
The Houghton brothers, Chris and Shane, creators and executive producers of the animated series Big City Greens, will be involved with the movie musical as they continue to work on the fourth season.
“Chris, Shane, and their crew made this decision an easy one because they consistently turn their wellspring of bold ideas into entertainment that connects with kids and families and appeals to fans of animation everywhere,” said Ayo David, president of Disney Branded Television. “Whether I’m at work or at home with my family, I join the millions of viewers around the world who are looking forward to all that Big City Greens has in store for us.”

Big City Greens is the off-beat adventures of a ten-year-old Cricket Green, who has over-the-top curiosity and enthusiasm that led into city adventures with his rural family and lifestyles. The family composes his hard-working father Bill, sweet-and-sour lovable Gramma Alice, and his weird quirky sister Tilly.
Chris and Shane Houghton are the comic creators and executive producers of the series. The animated series is influenced by their childhood in a small rural town of St. Johns, Michigan with characters based on their family and other townsfolk.
The series stars Christ Houghton as Cricket Green, Artemis Pebdani as Gramma Alice, Marieve Herington as Tilly Green, and Bob Joles as Bill Green.
Big City Greens season three premieres on Saturday, February 12, on the Disney channel at 9 a.m. EST/PST. No specific date is known at this time for the musical movie.
