The mob wars are taking itself differently nowadays on the streets.

In this laugh-out-loud bloody comedy, Big Easy Queens places drag queens against each other in this crime comedy with music and paranoia.

The film stars Miss Bouvèé, Benjamin Shaevitz, Jennifer McClain, Alexander Zenoz, and Matthew Darren. Erynn Dalton directed the film.

Here is the official synopsis:

Deep in the steamy underworld of New Orleans, Mob Queen of the Quarter Minnie Bouvèé has arch-nemesis Poodles Makenzie’s crew brutally slaughtered. As she braces for the blowback, she begins to notice an unexpected creepy masked figure stalking her, leaving behind bouquets of gardenias and terrifying notes. Is this Poodles’ revenge, or the work of Minnie’s estranged sister who stole her man years ago and has suddenly reappeared in her life?

LRM Online’s Gig Patta talked with director Erynn Dalton and actress Miss Bouvèé on the production of this drag queen comedy. We discussed the origination, the music, the makeup, and the horror elements in the comedy.

Erynn Dalton is a director both on stage and for film. She directed multiple media horror productions at her theater in Florida. In 2019, she made her directorial debut with the horror drama The Gravedigger.

Miss Bouvèé is the drag persona of theatre veteran Erik Swanson. Swanson has been seen in the regional productions of La Cage Aux Folles, Hairspray, Hair, and Simply Gershwin. As Miss Bouvèé, she performed in sold-out shows for the murder mysteries of Minnie Behind Bars, Minnie’s Merry Murder Christmas. Big Easy Queens marks her acting debut in a feature film.

Big Easy Queens makes its premiere at the Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival (AGLIFF) on August 26.
