Black Panther Cameo Rumor Debunked In The Falcon And The Winter Soldier

Black Panther cameo rumor debunked! For some time those involved with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier have been hyping a cameo they love in Episode 5 of the show. Namely, the one airing this Friday. When the Dora Milaje showed up, fans started to wondered if that cameo could be the late Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther?

It’s not! Likely hoping not to get people excited for something that trades on the untimely death of Boseman, producer Nate Moore has said no. Moore recently spoke with Vanity Fair and was asked about the rumors/theories.

“No. I can say. That is not going to happen,” Moore said from Atlanta, Georgia where he is prepping the Black Panther sequel. “I would be honest if it was. Chad’s passing is a whole life thing, and I loved the guy as much as the character. I think we have to be very careful and thoughtful about when he appears, because he meant so much to a lot of people as much as he meant to us. But yeah, we wouldn’t use that as a ‘Come next week; maybe you’ll see Panther!’ We wouldn’t, and he’s not.”

This does make sense, to get that info out there to temper fan expectations. Marvel knows from WandaVision that the fan hype can sometimes go beyond where even they were expecting. The way is see it, if Boseman had filmed scenes for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier prior to his death, Marvel would have been up front about it. I don’t think Marvel would use this cameo as a surprise. It would feel like using Boseman’s death as a marketing tool for the show. Though, when I first heard the rumor, like everyone else I just thought it would be cool and emotional. When you step back from that and look at the whole picture, it does not make sense.

So who is this mystery character? All we know, is that this person is a popular well known actor, and that this is not a big role. More like a cameo of a comic book character we might not expect to see. I’ve heard some recent rumors it is a women, but that makes little sense unless showrunner Malcom Spellman was trolling big time. Talking about this cameo before the show even aired Spellman referred to them as a ‘him’.

Guess we will find out this Friday? What do you think of this Black Panther cameo rumor being debunked by Marvel? As always, leave ay thoughts below.
