It seems like the hype for Marvel’s Black Panther is not only getting ready to dominate the big screen, but the Billboard charts as well.
The official soundtrack for the film titled Black Panther: The Album could possibly end the week of Feb. 15 with more than 100,000 album units sold according to forecasts via Entertainment Weekly. If these numbers end up being true, this will be the second film soundtrack to lead the charts since 20 Centuries Fox’s surprise hit musical The Greatest Showman.
Part of the success of the soundtrack has been its incorporation in the films great trailers featuring songs from Run the Jewels, Vince Staples and Kendrick Lamar. Speaking of Grammy Award winner Kendrick, he is not only on the album but also produced and curated it, no doubt giving it an extra push in the music industry.
The soundtrack was released on February 9 and it also features SZA, The Weekend, ScHoolboy Q, Jorja Smith and more. It’s a fantastic album that compliments the film very well, definitely much more than just your typical film soundtrack. Check out the track list below!
