Marvel’s Black Widow was delayed until November. However, it has now been confirmed that Black Widow will release early in the U.K. Read on for more details.
Earth is currently on hold and that means the entire movie industry is delayed for the moment. Things are starting to pick back up again in terms of production, but when will it be ok to go to a theater? That’s a question we don’t know the answer to. Yet, despite this, Disney has confirmed to DigitalSpy that Black Widow will release early in the U.K.
The outlet reached out to Disney, who confirmed that Black Widow now has a release date of October, 28th in the U.K. That’s over a week earlier than the U.S. release date of November, 6th. Now, this is actually fairly normal, other than for Infinity War and Endgame, Britain has been getting the MCU content about a week early. The only issue I can see at this point is whether that will be far enough down the line to see theaters open in the UK?
England has just taken the first steps to ending the lockdown. However, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland remain in another three weeks. The idea of cinemas re-opening has not even been breached yet, but there has been talk of sports events remaining behind closed doors for some time yet. I just get the feeling that releasing early, and announcing it already, seems a bit too soon.
It’s business as usual for Marvel if theaters are open come the end of October. If not, will the MCU get delayed even further? I just hope I am being overly pessimistic and I can get myself to my local theater on October 28th to see Black Widow. What do you think of this announcement that Black Widow will release early in the U.K.? Leave your thoughts below as always.
