Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings is delayed due to Coronavirus. However, prior to the lockdown LRM shared some rough Shang-Chi plot details that appeared on 4Chan. At the time, we said that 4Chan has about an equal share of real leaks, and made up rubbish. Therefore, telling the difference, is almost impossible.

The main reason we shared this supposed leak, was because it sounded damn good fun. So much so, that I wrote one of my weekly column, What This Fan Wants From… all about Shang-Chi and I used some of those reported leaks as a base. You can find my wish list for Shang-Chi Here! What is interesting, is that a new rumored plot summary has showed up. Initially I simply thought this was another version of the 4Chan leak being regurgitated. However, it seems like there are a lot more details in the new rumor. The details come from FandomWire, who claim they were given these details exclusively. So bearing in mind that this could end up being real, or not, please be wary of potential SPOILERS ahead for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

**Potential SPOILERS For Shang-Chi Below**

Shang-Chi has a special power in this film, and because of it, he was raised in an orphanage for kids that are trained to fight. This special orphanage is run by The Mandarin. Shang-Chi eventually escapes the school/prison and begins living on the run, trying to stay out the Mandarin’s clutches his entire life.

The Mandarin does eventually find the grown-up Shang-Chi again, and offers him a chance. The Mandarin promises Shang-Chi money and power, along with a promise that he’ll finally stop chasing him if he will fight in an epic and magical tournament that every kid in the orphanage has been training for their entire lives. Whoever wins this tournament gets the legendary 10 Rings, which grants even more power, which clearly The Mandarin wants. However, The Mandarin is currently too old to fight so he enlists Shang-Chi.

The tournament will have new characters from all corners of the MCU that include wizards, aliens, fighters, and well known comic book characters which we don’t want to spoil. Imagine a Marvel-infused Mortal Kombat movie!

In this film, Shang-Chi’s special power is the ability to clone himself while fighting. This is a slightly different approach to a power he had in his more recent comics run.

I think the detail which catches my attention is the reference to Shang-Chi feeling like a Marvel infused Mortal Kombat movie. That’s because I used this analogy myself in my own fan-fiction description of the movie I wanted to see. Either someone has read my article and then pitched it to the outlet as the real plot, or I’ve luckily hit the nail on the head. Occam’s Razor time, the most simple solution here, is that the 4Chan leak, was genuine, or based on genuine information. I’ve then looked at the gaps in that leak and made it into a Marvel movie, which had already been done by Marvel. The new rumored leak has a bit more information, and fills in those gaps with a coincidentally similar description. That’s my guess anyway.

Honestly though, I just don’t know? It’s clear I like this idea for Shang-Chi, I think it sounds like a fun movie. Maybe I worry that because I like the idea so much, I am not being as skeptical as I normally am? If I turn up to see Shang-Chi next year and it’s not Marvel v Mortal Kombat v Enter The Dragon, I’m actually going to be disappointed. Hence, am I being objective enough with this leak? It’s a weird situation, but therefore, it’s worth writing about.
