Not too long ago, we reported on the rumor that Christopher Nolan’s next project would be a romantic thriller in the vein of North by Northwest meets Inception. Not long after that, the Warner Bros. reached out to us and told us that said rumor was indeed false, going so far as to say they currently don’t know what Nolan’s next project will actually be. That last part definitely isn’t true, but it makes sense they’d say that. Regardless, it was inevitable that even the smallest details would finally come to light.

Variety is the outlet to draw first blood in that respect. According to the outlet’s sources, Nolan’s latest film has tapped BlacKkKlansman star John David Washington to lead his next film, which is being called an “event film,” unsurprisingly. In the age of the blockbuster, Nolan is one of a handful of filmmakers out their allowed to make big budget original movies, and it’s likely this is new movie — the script for which Nolan recently finished — will be another one of those.

Sadly, we are still in the dark about what this movie is about, other than the fact that it’s coming out July 2020, but needless to say, given who’s at the helm, it’s one of those movies were keeping a close eye on. Plus, with Washington taking the lead, it’s sure to draw some attention, given his great performance in BlacKkKlansman.

But what do you think of him joining? Let us know down below!
