Blue’s Clues Reboot Reaction Gets Rough | Fine Toon

Why create new shows when you can just simply make a reboot of something popular in the past. Nickelodeon is banking on this trend and is gearing for the comeback from shows such as Rugrats to All That having already returned Double Dare. The latest offering to the nostalgia god is Blue’s Clues and the reaction is mixed at best. Tough out of the target demographic now people are stating that Blue’s new friend Josh will pale in comparison to former co-star Steve. Steve the original host of the show left in 2002 which seems like enough time for people not to get worked up over the new series which is slotted for preschoolers but then again this is the internet.

Creators of the show and studio executives knew how vital the role of the host would be as Blue can’t simply carry the show by herself. Nickelodeon’s former executive vice president Shelly Sumpter Gillyard stated how serious they took the task of finding the right host for Blue’s Clues & You.

“The search for the new host of Blue’s Clues & You was no small task, but we knew as soon as we met Josh that he was the perfect choice” she additionally stated that “There was no doubt that he could carry the show on for the next generation of preschoolers.”

With Blue’s Clues & You reaching an overlap with kids of the original watching the new incarnation of the popular preschool show with their children this is sure to bring up old feelings and memories. Currently, there are only 20 episodes of the show ordered with a scheduled release slated for November.

Let us know your thought. Will Nickelodeon’s nostalgia blast return them to prominence?
