Meet The Cast Of Child’s Play

It’s the age of the remake.  Now I’m not hating this.  There have been some strong remakes (Halloween, IT) which gave me my required fix of 80s/90s nostalgia.  Next up is another slasher remake in the form of Child’s Play.  I have to admit that this is one I didn’t get into as much.  I’ll watch all of the Friday the 13th films (even when Jason goes to Manhattan and space…), Halloween, and Nightmare on Elm Street films, but I can’t get past the original Child’s Play.  The first was decently done, and really paved the way for creepy dolls, as well as starring the wonderful Catherine Hicks.

Coming at us on June 21, the remake stars April Ludgate…I mean Aubrey Plaza in the role of Karen Barclay with the wonderful Mark Hamill donning the iconic Chucky voice (which should be awesome). Brian Tyree Henry (Godzilla vs. Kong, Joker) will be playing the role of Mike Norris. A recent “Meet the Cast” clip has been released, which you can check out above.

I am pretty pumped for Hamill to be the voice actor, but I am worried that all I will be able to see is April Ludgate from Parks and Rec rather than Karen Barclay trying to protect young Andy from the demonic doll.

Will you be checking out the Child’s Play remake?  I will definitely give it a shot since I love the horror genre, and the nostalgia.  Do you think it will follow in the footsteps of Halloween and IT and be deemed a success, or do you think it will fall more along the lines of the Nightmare on Elm Street remake? Are there any other horror genre films you would like to see get the remake treatment? Leave your thoughts in the usual spot, and thanks for reading!
