Bob Iger Says The Number Of Star Wars Projects In Development May Surprise Us

Folks we have a Disney theatrical slate update from yesterday, and we're breaking it down, this is the Star Wars Edition.

While we’re on the verge of watching the Skywalker rise, many fans wonder what the future holds for the Star Wars franchise. I would be one of those fans. We’ve heard recent news of trilogies being the least of Disney’s concern with the property, and with their first three-film effort bringing mixed reviews, that may be a good path to follow.

Head of the Disney council, CEO Bob Iger recently spoke with Variety and talked about what’s in the works for Star Wars down the road and he says we may be surprised by the number of projects in development, you can check out what he had to say below.

“Probably smaller than you think because what we do is, we look to pick a few and see how they gestate. In some cases, bring them out and see how the audience reacts and then react accordingly. It’s not as many as I think most people think. I think the number is endless, but we’re gonna be careful, the next one is really important.”

Over the last few years, the concept of franchise fatigue has been brought up, implying we’re getting too much Star Wars, too quickly, meh, the quantity is not the problem, it’s the quality. If you give us a bunch of good films and TV series, there will be no fatigue, but give us some mediocre installments into the franchise we quickly grow tired of your efforts.

Below you can find a sort of random Star Wars video, one of the oldest parodies of the franchise on YouTube, enjoy!
