Farhan Akhtar lands role in Marvel project? Read on for more details.
Indian Bollywood star Farhan Akhtar has reportedly landed a role in an upcoming Marvel project. The report comes from India Today who say this.
Confirming the news, a source close to the development said, “Farhan is currently stationed in Bangkok, along with an international cast and crew, for the shoot of a project with Marvel Studios. All other details of the project are strictly under wraps.”
Now, we know that Ms. Marvel is going to be filming in Bangkok soon. One could assume from this information that Akhtar is therefore in Ms. Marvel, no? Ms. Marvel will already have a Pakistani/Indian feel going on due to Kamala’s heritage. So having a huge Bollywood star show up would make a lot of sense.

Of course, this is just rumor until we get something more official. However I can’t see the source being way out on this one can you? As of now we have no idea who Akhtar could be playing in Ms. Marvel, but it appears he is in the show. I’ve said many times on here that I am not very familiar with the Kamal Khan version of Ms. Marvel whatsoever. The character had not yet been created back in my comic reading days. My first real introduction to Khan was in the Marvel’s Avengers video game. I liked what I saw of Kamala’s story, even if I cared less for the game itself.
Ms. Marvel should give us a completely different experience from any other Marvel show or movie we have seen thus far. Khan’s age is closer to Peter Parker, but I think from the little I do know, that Parker is a far more mature character than Khan is to begin with. Ms. Marvel could occupy a similar tone to that of DC’s Shazam, which is essentially kids with superpowers. Sadly that tone was a part of Shazam I was less keen on. Like all projects of Marvel though, I’ll be watching and judging each on their own merits.
