Bond 25: Shooting Suspended After Daniel Craig Injury

Every film production has its difficulties and obstacles, and it looks like Bond 25 has had a big one. According to a new report from the British newspaper The Sun (via Variety), the film’s production has suspended shooting following an injury to Daniel Craig, who is reprising his role as the titular James Bond for a final time. The actor reportedly fell while on set in Jamaica last week, and is getting X-rays — hence the suspension.

Luckily, from the sound of it, it’s not a life-threatening injury, even if it is incredibly uncomfortable and inconvenient. “He was sprinting during filming when he slipped and fell quite awkwardly,” one source told the outlet. “He was in quite a lot of pain and was complaining about his ankle.”

It is unclear just how long production will be suspended for, but the beginning of the film’s shooting at Pinewood Studios next week has reportedly been canceled, so that’s not really a great sign.

Of course, this isn’t the first time films have had setbacks due to actor injuries. Craig himself has been injured plenty of times on these movies, with his injuries ranging to lost teeth to torn muscles. Famously, during the production of Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Tom Cruise suffered a broken ankle, and they still managed to hit their release date in spite of production delays.

This is, however, another setback for a film that already had plenty of trouble in development with its original director, Danny Boyle, leaving due to creative differences.
