We know who will be the honored guest at the next Comedy Central Roast, Bruce Willis. The tough guy actor will likely be lambasted at the event, that has seen others sit in the chair such as Pamela Anderson, Bob Saget, Hugh Hefner and even our current president, Donald Trump. Willis even commented on the event:
“This ain’t the first time I’ll be tied to a chair and held hostage by a group of humorless assholes for a couple hours.”
Comedy Central President, Kent Alterman had this to say:
“Bruce has survived terrorists, Armageddon, romance and death itself. Yet, nothing has prepared him for this Roast.”
Willis is one of the bigger names to be roasted since Comedy Central started the show back up in the 2000s. I am a big fan of these roasts, the brutal nature of them is what draws me in, as I have a really messed up sense of humor. Having said that, I am also a fan of the old Dean Martin roasts, back when being a roastee was truly an honor and usually came at the end of a performer’s career, nowadays the criteria to be roasted is much less scrutinous, but entertaining nonetheless. The roasts weren’t nearly as harsh back then and a lot cleaner for the most part, but still, very funny.
