Captain America: Brave New World gets a new writer in Matthew Orton for reshoots, plus some Bucky Barnes rumors. Let’s start with the solid news from Deadline that Matthew Orton (Moon Knight) has been hired to scribe planned reshoots for the movie. The trade also says additional shooting is planned for mid 2024.
‘With plenty of time until its Feb. 14, 2025 theatrical release, Marvel Studios‘ Captain America: Brave New World has hired Matthew Orton to pen additional scenes and material.’
‘Orton will work on material that will be shot in additional photography, which will take place in spring-summer of 2024, we understand.’
It does seem as though some additional work is happening now on the movie. Though, perhaps this was just some small pick ups delayed due to the strikes. Whereas it seems like the more extensive reshoots will happen in Spring. However, with the official release date now not till 2025, there is plenty of time. At the end of the day, I think most fans would prefer a better movie than a quick release.

On to some rumors about Brave New World now and we have an insider disagreement.
Alex P of TCC seems to be saying Bucky will show up in Brave New World. However, it is based on Sebastian Stan’s name being mentioned in that Deadline article, which has now been removed.

Both of these insiders have very good hit rates people. Ergo, no comment from me on which one is right and which on is wrong. We will just have to wait and see whether Bucky shows up in Brave New World or not?
Perhaps it could change based on any rewrites that Matthew Orton comes up with?
