Captain Marvel: Does This Figure Give Away A Huge Spoiler? [POTENTIAL SPOILERS]

Marvel Studios has always been about them secrets. Somehow, despite the large number of people involved in its production, they managed to keep that insane ending to Avengers: Infinity War a big secret, but even they aren’t immune to the biggest spoiler known to mankind: action figures. That’s right, no matter how tightlipped they are about things, action figures are more than happy to rain on their parade as well.

As we near the release of their latest film, Captain Marvel, toy creators are readying themselves, and it’s with those leaks that the most information is revealed, and this latest one is a doozy. It comes courtesy of the folks on Reddit, one of whom found a new Nick Fury toy, and the original poster was quick to notice one key distinguishing trait…

Nick Fury a Skrull? Marvel Legends figure has green eyes… from r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers

No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. That does, indeed, look like Nick Fury with green eyes. As the trailers have made abundantly clear, one key race of antagonists they’ll be covering are the Skrulls, an alien race who have the ability to shapeshift. Could this figure be hinting at the idea that this version of Nick Fury is actually a Skrull?

Maybe, but not so fast. First off, we got our first look at a shapeshifted Skrull in the second trailer for Captain Marvel, and in it, we didn’t see any green eyes. Additionally, one Reddit commenter, who claimed to work for Hasbro at one point said the following:

“As someone who used to work at Hasbro, it’s probably just the way the plastic cured, or budget costs affected the eyes.”

“If not, good catch, but that would be a really lame twist.”

So which is it? We’ll have to wait to find out, but it’s not inconceivable that the Nick Fury in this film could be an impostor of some sort — or that there will be some double running around throughout the film wreaking havoc.
