So, you like Marvel Studios and you love character posters? Thank goodness you’re into both of those things because Marvel Studios actually has a movie coming out in a couple months called Captain Marvel. It’s set to feature their first female lead superhero and promises to have all kinds of Kree-Skrull and shapeshifting action. In anticipation of that flick, they have released a whole band of character posters for it — 10 to be exact.
Yeah, 10. That’s a lot of characters to keep track of. However, given how far along we are in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I supposed that’s kind of to be expected, right? We are now over 20 films into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and there is a good number of characters here returning from other films, in addition to the new ones that are specific to this film and franchise. Below is the official synopsis to Captain Marvel:
“Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.
The film stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto, Mckenna Grace, with Annette Bening, with Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.
Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel is produced by Kevin Feige and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Patricia Whitcher and Stan Lee are the executive producers. The story is by Nicole Perlman & Meg LeFauve and Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck & Geneva Robertson-Dworet, and the screenplay is by Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck & Geneva Robertson-Dworet.
Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019.
