Remember when we all got a bit excited because Samuel L. Jackson claimed that Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel had the ability to travel in time? I do, I wrote about it on here and speculated what this could mean without truly understanding the context of the ability.
Well, it turns out the Sam was trolling the hell out of fans in various interviews and he uses this example as a time he made stuff up just to mess with the fans. Jackson talks about this in a recent interview with Kevin Ryder alongside his co-stars Brie Larson and Ben Mendelsohn. Check it out below, but Jackson said
“I made stuff up, I said she could time travel one time. It just jacked everybody up.”
Got to interview the cast of #CaptainMarvel @kevinandbean! Including @brielarson, @SamuelLJackson, @clarkgregg, and @BenMendelsohn_

It just goes to show you, you can’t even trust spoilers from the people who are big parts of the movie, because they may just be messing with you. I haven’t seen Captain Marvel yet, I am hitting the theater on Friday night, but at least I won’t be wondering what the hell Jackson was on about when I walk out after seeing the movie?

So any of that speculation about how Captain Marvel’s time travel abilities could factor into the plot of the upcoming Avengers: Endgame, well, those will have to be ripped up now.
I do have to say I found it very strange when Jackson first mentioned it, but at the same time, we had no reason to doubt he knew what he was talking about. Lesson learned, never trust Samuel L. Jackson ever again, or maybe just be wary of any spoilers he spills for movies from now on?
What do you think of Jackson’s troll and have you caught Captain Marvel yet? Sound off in the usual place below.
