A Wrinkle In Time: Producer Catherine Hand Talks Pathway Of Creating The Impossible Movie

For the beloved book, it was often said for many years that it would be impossible to adapt for a movie.

And the impossible happened.

A Wrinkle In Time is out on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download today. The film is an adaptation of the children’s novel by Madeleine L’Engle. The screenplay was written by Jennifer Lee (Frozen) and Jeff Stockwell (Bridge to Terabithia).

The film as an all-star cast of Storm Reid (12 Years a Slave), Oprah Winfrey (The Color Purple), Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde), Mindy Kaling (The Office), Levi Miller (Pan), Deric McCabe, Chris Pine (Star Trek), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Belle), Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover) and Michael Pena (American Hustle). It is directed by Ava DuVernay (Selma).

The film follows the story of a young girl, her brother and her friend using the Tesseract for space travel to find her father. She is assisted by three magical beings called Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which to complete a daring rescue from a terrible evil being of the universe.

LRM sat down with producer Catherine Hand on her years of journey brining this to the large screen and now to the small screen.
