Chase Crawford and Jessie T. Usher Talk About Their Superhero Characters In The Boys [Exclusive Interview]

The Boys

Will The Deep (Chace Crawford) make a reformed return for Season two of The Boys? Does A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) start appreciating his health and stop running to Compound-V?

The Deep and A-Train are the superheroes that have the most similarities in The Boys. In the first season their poor decisions lead to jeopardizing their careers as part of the Seven and they’re trying to redeem themselves. In season two, they attempt to rejoin the group and they will have to adapt to a new dynamic and a new colleague, Stormfront.

Chase Crawford’s acting career began thanks to his mom. He was struggling to find  the right career path while attending Pepperdine University. Crawford had only done modeling before college.  His first television appearance was for a Lifetime film Long Lost Son in 2006. Also that same year, The Covenant with Sebastian Stan (Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Endgame). His big break came when he was casted to be one of the lead characters in the CW’s drama Gossip Girl, 2017-2012.

Usher’s big break came when he landed the role of Kyle Hugginson in Cartoon Network’s television movie Level Up. The success continued with Survivor’s Remorse, Game Stands Tall and 20th Century Fox sequel Independence Day: Resurgence.

In a zoom interview Chace Crawford discussed The Deep after his obligated sabbatical leave in the last season. Jessie T. Usher talks about what he hopes his character learns from the first season for this upcoming season.  We spoke about the similarities between their two superhero characters and their relationship with their new Supe colleague, Stormfront.
