Jason Statham To Team With Guy Ritchie For Spy Film ‘Five Eyes’

Director Guy Ritchie and actor Jason Statham are once again teaming up in the spy thriller, Five Eyes. Statham will play MI6 agent Orson Fortune, who is recruited by the organization Five Eyes to prevent the sale of a dangerous new technology and locate a billionaire arms dealer.

The two have had a number of successful films working together most notably the British crime action/comedies, Snatch, and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. How can you not love Statham when he is in his element, and Ritchie has shown to be a fantastic storyteller.

Miramax CEO Bill Block had the following to say in a statement:

“Guy Ritchie’s Five Eyes is his next collaboration with Jason, commencing with Snatch, following the upcoming film, Wrath of Man and the global success of The Gentlemen, in partnership with STXfilms. We’re excited to be reunited with the STX team, as well as Ritchie and Statham whose undeniable chemistry, philosophy and talent will surely attract a massive appeal from audiences worldwide.”

Adam Fogelson, Chairman STXfilms:

“Jason is a global box office heavyweight, and when teamed with Guy Ritchie, that’s an irresistible combination. It’s a thrill to be back in business with Guy, Bill, and the team at Miramax after our shared success on The Gentlemen and we believe Five Eyes is the kind of film our partners overseas will love as much as we do.”

The duo of Richie and Statham have given me what is, my favorite film of all time in Snatch. Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is also a great movie. Ritchie also did quite well bring famed British detective Sherlock Holmes back to the big-screen, extremely well with the first film.

Statham is of course an A-list action star starring in films where he usually takes on the role of some sort of unstoppable ass-kicking machine that has a style like no other.  I would bet the dude has a chin made out of diamond.  You’d likely break your hand if you punched him.
