Fans received a new trailer for the hero now known as “Captain Sparkle Fingers” (what a fantastic name, right?) yesterday, and today they get a new poster for the film. The poster reminds everyone that the new film from DC is just one month away. Shaping up to be one of the more fun films by the studio, the film finds Zachary Levi’s Billy Batson with powers bestowed upon him by a wizard played by Djimon Hounsou.

While I do want to see Joaquin Phoenix’s turn as the Joker in Todd Phillips’ film which is due out later this year, Shazam! is the DC film I am most excited about, at least at the moment. It simply seems so different from the films the studio has given us so far, it will be a breath of fresh air in the superhero genre. A break from the dark and brooding films that, for the most part, we have seen from DC. Shazam! is set to bring both the laughs and adventure. You can check out the new poster below.

One bad thing for the film is its release date being in April just a few weeks before the highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame. DC will just have to hope those weeks are enough to let Shazam! have a nice box-office run.
