Check Out This Mortal Kombat ‘Fight Koreography’ Featurette

While the Mortal Kombat film hit on several levels, it missed on just as many, if not more. I enjoyed parts of the film while other elements had me shaking my head. The film did pretty well financially, and with the actor who plays Sub-Zero reportedly signed on for multiple movies, hopefully, we’ll get some sequels that improve upon this initial entry.

Regardless of your feelings on the film, if you are enough of a fan that you watched it, you’ll likely enjoy the fighting featurette video. You can check out the video below. Enjoy!

I always enjoy behind-the-scenes content such as this as I enjoy seeing how things are made and shot. I’ve long been interested in this side of movies.

Overall I was disappointed by the reboot. The trailers looked like they got it right this time. And I really didn’t think it could be any worse than the 1995 film. To clarify, I don’t think it’s an all-around worse film than the 90s version.

Though it really shouldn’t have been this close of a call. Like many other longtime fans of the video game we were hoping the reboot would be the adaptation the franchise deserved, and while it wasn’t MK: Annihilation terrible, it definitely left something to be desired. The opening scene was the best part of the film and in my opinion and the rest of the film seemed almost unrelated.

You can find an official synopsis for Mortal Kombat below.

“In Mortal Kombat, MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his family’s heritage – or why Outworld’s Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family’s safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking that Cole was born with. Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden. An Elder God and protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana – the immense power from within his soul – in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?”
