Remember when Furbies came out and they were all the rage? Yeah, they were pretty cool, but many of us kinda felt like those things would eventually come alive and kill us all. Now, the idea of a high-tech toy that somehow comes to life has finally become a reality in the new Child’s Play (and no, I don’t count the original, since that was more supernatural).
As speculated on Reddit, the new trailer has dropped today, and it seems like a fitting update for the franchise. While I wouldn’t call the film absolutely amazing, I feel like, for the first time in a while, I can actually take this horrific little guy seriously. It may not be scary, but it’s at least interesting in a more thriller capacity.

Of course, it’s worth mentioning that the film comes from the producers of IT, and the fact that the main character is actually a kid is pretty fitting, and helps make the film a bit more endearing — at least to me.
But what do you think of this new trailer? Is it enough to bring a renewed interest to the relatively dormant Child’s Play franchise? Will you instead wait for the TV show from the creator? Let us know your thoughts down below!
