Child’s Play Trailer Reported To Hit Next Week

As we’ve reported on multiple occasions, Chucky is headed back to both the big and small screen in the very near future. On the TV front, he’ll be headed to Syfy in a project created by the concept’s original creator Don Mancini. But before the series, which is called Chucky, hits the network, we will already be treated to a brand-new rebooted film, appropriately titled Child’s Play.

The film is set to hit theaters this coming June, and while we’ve seen a teaser for the film that shows off a fake ad for the new toy Buddi, we still haven’t seen some actual footage from the movie. With the film still over four months away, that wasn’t exactly a huge surprise, but it looks like we’ll be getting a new trailer very soon, as reported by Trailer Track.

According to them, the studios involved in the movie have sent out a trailer to U.S. theaters, and they are requiring that it show with The Prodigy, a horror movie set to release on February 8. As one usually expects with trailers, that means it will likely hit the web the day of or a few days before, meaning that next week is a likely online street date for the trailer.

One interesting side note is a rumor from Reddit. The poster for the film hit back around Christmas, and on it, there was an ornament that read “2/8.” It was speculated that this means the trailer would hit on that very day. So, yeah, all the stars seem to be aligning for the trailer to hit at this time, which is pretty clever for the studios.
