Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina Holiday Special Gets Synopsis

Looks like we’re getting a holiday special from the Church of Night.

Netflix has begun setting its cast for the Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina holiday special. Actress Mckenna Grace will be guest-starring as a younger Sabrina Spellman in the one-off special titled “A Midwinter’s Tale.” The Hollywood Reporter has provided a brief synopsis for the special event:

The Sabrina holiday special is set during the Church of Night’s celebration of the winter solstice. On the longest night of the year, families gather around the Yule fire to sing pagan carols and tell ghost stories. But the holidays are also a time for guests and visitors both welcome and unwelcome.”

There’s more good news for the successful Netflix series, as the streaming service has given the green-light for a second season. Appearing in both the special and second season will be Alexis Denisof (who is set to play Adam Masters, the boyfriend of Michelle Gomez’ Mary Wardwell) and Jedidiah Goodacre (who will portray the warlock Dorian Gray). The series regulars, including lead Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto and Lucy Davis, will appear in the holiday special as well as season two.

“A Midwinter’s Tale”, which was written by showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Donna Thorland and directed by Jeff Woolnough, is set to premiere on Friday, December 14th on Netflix. The premiere date for the second season has yet to be determined.
