For a while we were not sure if Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD would even get a 6th season at all, then it was announced that there would be a 6th and final season of the ABC show. We also heard this final season would have a shorter 13 episode count and wouldn’t be hitting screen until 2019.

Now star Chloe Bennett (Daisy/Quake) has revealed on Instagram that Season 6 will begin filming next week, here is what the actress said in a recent post.

“Last Friday before shooting Season 6. Daisy Johnson I’m coming for ya”

What’s interesting here is, that this seems a bit too soon for a 13 episode run not due to hit screens till 2019. If it was returning in the Fall of this year as per normal, then this wouldn’t seem out of place. Has something changed behind the scenes that we have not been made aware of? Or are they keeping with their usual schedule and just delaying the release of the finished season till next year? Your guess is as good as mine until we hear anything else.

I still have not caught up with the latest season of the show, partly due to the channel it’s shown on and the timings they use here in the UK. I will likely wait for it to appear on Amazon Prime Video as I did with the Ghost Rider centric season.

Are you glad Agents of SHIELD is returning for one last hurrah? Sound off in the usual place below.
