Chris Evans Is Already Missing Being Captain America – Could He Ever Come Back?

Steve Rogers has left the MCU, whether that means for good we just don’t know? Chris Evans is already missing being Captain America. However, it seems like he does not regret his decision to part ways with the MCU. Evans, along with Robert Downey, Jr. has been the foundation upon which the MCU was built. However, both Evans and RDJ felt like Avengers: Endgame was the right time to bow out.

Evans recently spoke with Backstage.com, and revealed that while he misses being in the MCU, he also values his newfound creative freedom.

“I absolutely loved my time with Marvel; I already miss it. But there’s no denying that it is very exciting to just have complete freedom to pursue whatever my creative appetite wants.”

I honestly don’t want to see Steve Rogers back…yet. Eventually, in around 10-15 years’ time, if the MCU is still going, let’s talk again.

Chris Evans already misses being captain America

There is one project I’d love to see from Evans and the MCU, but not for a long time, and that’s an ‘Old Cap’ story. The question of whether Steve spent his life undercover in our Universe or over in an alternative one has still to be determined. Personally I prefer the idea that Steve spent his life in an alternate world. I think this choice allows more freedom to bring back Steve sometime in the future. I’d be happy to see a self-contained movie set in Steve’s world, but also would happily see him have to come back home for a short spell as well.

Just to reiterate, I am talking about a project that wouldn’t make sense for at least another decade or so. By then, maybe Evans will have stretched his creative freedom and fancy coming back home. An Old Cap movie would also not diminish that Endgame finale if it doesn’t happen for a long time. Evans has become one of the most popular actors in Hollywood, I can’t wait to see what he turns up in next.

What do you think of the news that Chris Evans is already missing being Captain America? Would you like to see Evans back in a decade or so like me? Leave your thoughts below as always.
