Chukwudi Iwuji teases his Guardians 3 character is powerful and complex in a recent interview with THR. Iwuji chatted to the trade about a number of projects but of course talk turned to Guardians 3 which is Iwuji’s current job as it is filming now. Iwuji went through the process of how Gunn asked him to play the unnamed role in Guardians 3 whilst they were filming Peacemaker, but he is careful to emit any details of who the character is he is playing is.
However, when asked specifically this is all Iwuji would say about his Guardians 3 character.
“Powerful. (Laughs.) Extremely powerful. Complex. James and I were talking about it, but he’s certainly one of, if not the most complex characters we’ve seen in the freaking Marvel universe. So he’s deeply complex and deeply powerful, and I hope intriguing. I hope I bring that to it. (Laughs.)”
Now, of course as this is a news story I don’t want to get into rumors here. However the Barside Buzz is pretty clear on exactly who Iwuji is playing in Guardians 3. Whether Iwuji’s role stays unofficial remains to be seen? It could be that once promotion for Guardians 3 begins, which is still some way off, that Iwuji’s role will be revealed and the actor can be more open about things. However given this is the MCU, it’s also possible that we will still be going by rumors right up till the official release date.
