Colin Farrell Hopes To Shoot Penguin Series In February Or March

Colin Farrell says in a recent interview he hopes to shoot the Penguin series in February or March

The state of the DCU may be in flux, but one franchise pushing on regardless is The Batman. Colin Farrell says in a recent interview he hopes to shoot the Penguin series in February or March. Farrell of course played ‘Oz’ aka Penguin in The Batman. The Penguin series is a planned spin-off from that movie that will focus on Oz after the events of the movie.

So we knew Penguin was still happening, despite the change in DCU leadership, but now we know when it films, roughly. Speaking with Variety as you can see below, Farrell says he hopes to shoot the series in February or March.

Rumor wise, there are a few hints at where Penguin could be going. We covered some of those and you can catch them in the related section below. Post The Batman, Gotham is in a pretty bad state, and it seems that there will be a war for control of the criminal underworld brewing. Salvatore Marone is rumored to be back on the scene, presumably after his incarceration was proved to have been a set up orchestrated by Carmine Falcone, and enabled by some high powered Gothamites.

For now it seems like whatever plans Peter Saffran and James Gunn are making for the DFCU, do include Matt Reeves The Batman Universe. Or, they are doing their own thing whilst Reeves gets to do his? Either way, you can pretty sure that we will see The Batman 2 eventually. However first, will be Penguin.

What do you think? Are you excited for Penguin? If Colin Farrell hopes to shoot the Penguin series in February or March, then we could be looking at late 2023 – early ’24 before we see it appear on HBO Max. As allways, leave any thoughts below.
