Love him or hate him, Thor is one of the most popular characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He had one of the most complete character arcs from his first film through Avengers: Endgame. While he is far from the regal Thor of the comic books, he is a perfect blend of strength, presence, and humor. Now, I know a specific fan of this site is screaming at me through his screen, but I absolutely love what they’ve done with Thor, and despite my not liking the acting or chemistry with Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, I am looking forward to Thor: Love and Thunder.

Rumors about Christian Bale being in the upcoming MCU film have been circling for a while. Once We had confirmation that he would be in, many began wondering what role he would play and baddie cam up in more than one conversation. Now we know, thanks to ET’s interview with Valkyrie herself Tessa Thompson, that he will be the villain of the film. Bale is no stranger to comic book movies, having been the star of the Dark Knight Trilogy, but he is completely new to the MCU.
So what role will Christian Bale play? There have been rumors of Galactus, Beta Ray Bill, Silver Surfer, and even Gorr The God Butcher has been spoken of. I think Galactus could be an interesting choice for Bale as well as the Silver Surfer. Having the Surfer be the bad guy in this film could help set up for the reveal of the Fantastic Four. Imagine a defeated Surfer who discovers Earth after the return of Marvel’s First Family (in my mind they’ve been lost in time and space since the 60’s) and he’s not defeated but changed by the Fantastic Four. Now we have the setup for the Heroes of Earth to take on Galactus as he sets his eyes on Earth to punish the Surfer.
