Could This Star Wars Actor Be Playing Old Loki In The Disney+ Series?

Star Wars actor joins Loki

Richard E. Grant, Star Wars actor Joins Loki and we speculate who he is playing? Plus, we have confirmation from Disney’s Bob Iger that Loki will release in 2021. Read on for more details.

Loki is shaping up to be a very interesting show. Tom Hiddleston stars in the show as the God of mischief once more, but he has a strong supporting cast. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino all appear in undisclosed roles. However, we now have one more interesting name to add to that list as a Star Wars actor joins Loki.

Discussing Film reported yesterday that actor Richard E. Grant has signed on officially to Loki. Once again details of who Grant is applying are unknown. I will, however, do a little guesswork/speculation on that. Grant most recently was seen by fanboys and girls in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. If nothing else, Allegiant General Pryde was better than General Hux, right? Grant also posted his arrival in Atlanta for filming yesterday on social media. Grant didn’t mention what he was there to film, but it does not take a genius to put two and two together here.

As for who Grant could be playing, well, I’m putting my money on an older version of Loki himself. From what we know, the series will heavily feature time travel and perhaps some Multiverse shenanigans. It is thought Owen Wilson is playing someone from the Time Variance Authority. It is also rumored that Sophia Di Martino is playing a female version of Loki. If there are going to be multiple versions of Loki around, why not an older version as well? Grant and Hiddleston don’t exactly look completely alike, but they look enough alike for a different Universe. Both actors certainly have that Loki mischievous grin down though, and I could see this being a very fun gimmick. I like the idea of Loki cutting about time and meeting different versions of himself, though what Loki’s purpose could be is still unknown.

Bob Iger officially confirmed that Loki will be coming to Disney+ in 2021. The outgoing CEO of Disney announced the news during Disney’s Annual Shareholder meeting yesterday. We do not know when the show is due in 2021, but we can guess it should be earlier in the year. The only other Marvel shows farther ahead than Loki are Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and WandaVision, both due for release this year.

What do you think of Richard E. Grant joining the Disney+ show, do you agree with my prediction of ‘Old Loki’? Leave us any thoughts you have in the usual place below.
