Cyborg Film Still On For 2020?

The future of DC looks more promising than the past. The recent trailers for both Aquaman and Shazam! seem to be pushing the studio is a new direction. We have been receiving lots of DC news lately, and today we learn that as far as actor Joe Morton knows, a Cyborg solo film is still set to be released in 2020. Morton spoke with /Film and says while he hasn’t seen a script, the film is supposedly still set to be made.

“I know there’s supposed to be a Cyborg movie they’re going to shoot in 2020. That’s all I know. I haven’t seen a script.”

Interesting, I mean who really knows what’s going on over at DC, right? I think there is a lot left to be explored with the character of Cyborg and am glad to hear the film is (according to Morton), still on. Also interesting is that Morton continued, again bringing attention to the infamous Snyder Cut of Justice League.

“There was [more we shot]. They completely changed the story. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what [the original story] is because that might end up being in part of the Cyborg movie. Yes, there was a big change once they decided that they were going to do the Cyborg film.”

Completely changed the story? The plot does indeed thicken. While the studio recently said they will not be releasing the Snyder cut, I think they should reconsider, as they need to score as many points with their fanbase as possible. Not long ago DC expressed interest in turning their attention to stand-alone films, not connected with the already established DC extended universe. Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker film is set to be the first of these films. You can also read the latest on The Batman, in the RELATED section above.
