Dafne Keen teases plot details for The Acolyte in a recent interview promoting His Dark Materials Season 3. Keen, the lead star of HDM also has a large part (not lead) in Star Wars: The Acolyte. Keen is asked about the currently filming The Acolyte by Tech Radar in a recent press junket for HDM 3, and here is what she had to say.
“I can tease that it’s a prequel!” Keen joked when asked what she could say about The Acolyte. “No, I mean, as you know, it’s set 100 years before the prequel movies, and it’s kind of an explanation of how the Sith infiltrated the Jedi. It’s a Sith-led story, which has never been done before.”
“It’s been really fun to film – the cast is amazing, and the director and crew are just lovely. The whole experience is wonderful, and I’m already excited for people to see it.”

That’s not much different than the official synopsis we already have. Various rumors have always indicated this would be a story that follows events from a Sith point of view. However, Keen specifically says ‘an explanation of how the Sith infiltrated the Jedi’. That, if true, is new information. However one wonders is Keen has misspoken slightly? I’m not sure if the Sith would ever have infiltrated the Jedi from the inside. Whereas we know they did indeed succeed in infiltrating the Republic. Though, I guess this could be something different from how we thought events might play out?
It’s an interesting quote nonetheless and I wonder what role Keen herself will be playing? I can’t wait to watch HDM 3 very soon, and I’ll be reviewing it for LRM. Keen is a great actress and I can’t wait to see what she and the rest of the cast conjure up for us in The Acolyte.
