The third entry into the Harry Potter spin-off series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will reportedly resume filming sometimes this month. Like many other productions, filming was shut down due to the pandemic. I’ve enjoyed the first two films, and it’s always nice to find yourself back in the Harry Potter universe.

One question going around the internet is who else might also find themselves back to the Potterverse? While Dumbledore is the most prominent connection between the two film series, many fans believe at some point other Potter favorites ma make an appearance.

Dan Fogler, who plays  Jacob Kowalski in the Fantastic Beasts series was asked his thoughts on the matter while speaking with Movie Dweeb. You can check out what he had to say below.

“There could be that Hagrid crossover, which would be very interesting. Is that what people are saying? I didn’t know that. [Hagrid’s mother] is there, and she comes to Newt and she’s like, ‘I have my baby boy, can you take care of him?’ And Newt is like, ‘Well, I’m a little busy.’ And there’s me, ‘Alright, I’ll take care of this giant kid. I thought that would be a fun connection there.”

Sure, it’s possible we could see younger versions of characters such as Hagrid, but as Fogler adds below, with time travel in play, we could see any character from Potter show up in any of the three upcoming Fantastic Beasts films.

More from Fogler:

“With the whole Time-Turner thing, you could really have anybody show up. Hermoine pops in by accident or something, some kind of Easter egg.”

I actually kind of like his idea for a sudden cameo that’s over before you have time to process it. Not necessarily Hermoine, but I wouldn’t be disappointed if that was the character chosen. I think at some point fans will be treated to a character crossover in one way or another. Whether one gets added to the cast in a substantial role or a few make memorable cameo appearances, the filmmakers must remember it’s a delicate situation and can go overboard quickly.
