Daniel Bruhl Excited To Wear The Zemo Mask In Falcon And The Winter Soldier

Daniel Bruhl is back and excited to wear the Zemo mask in Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Bruhl will reprise his role in the Disney+ MCU show, set for release this year. Bruhl made his debut as Zemo in Captain America: Civil War, and most MCU fans loved his portrayal. Zemo definitely did not feel like a one dimensional villain in Civil War.

Of all the enemies the Avengers have faced, it was Zemo who perhaps had the greatest success against them. Zemo effectively split the Avengers in two and wedged apart the friendship of Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. The problems between Steve and Tony were felt right into Infinity War, where the Avengerst, apart, failed to defeat Thanos. Only after Tony and Steve began working together were the Avengers able to defeat Thanos for good.

Bruhl spoke to Collider recently and talked about how excited he was to be back as Zemo, and this time he gets the mask as well.

“It was funny because Angel of Darkness was the first time I’d ever revisited something and came back to the same project again, or to go on playing that part. And then, whilst I was shooting Angel of Darkness, I got the news that they wanted me to come back to shoot The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I remember that Kari Skogland, the director, came to Budapest and we recorded something with me being Zemo, and I was very happy and enthusiastic to see the mask.”

The ‘something’ Bruhl shot in Budapest was the promo we have seen with Zemo in the mask. You can find that image iuderneath the related link below.

Bruhl then went on to say how happy he is to be back in the MCU.

“I was incredibly thrilled to go back because I remember that I had a lot of fun being in something completely different and getting to explore the MCU and become part of that.” Bruhl continued, “I have the fondest memories of collaborating with all of these wonderful actors, and to see Sebastian Stan again, and Anthony Mackie, this time around, and to come back to something which, on the one hand, felt common and known, and on the other hand, being something completely new and something fresh.”

Zemo was a role that I always thought would grow looking back at Civil War. Zemo cannot be happy that the world is in mourning for Tony Stark and praising Captain America, his hatred runs too deep. Perhaps the idea of Sam Wilson donning the Captain America mantle is one step too far for the villain? Or, Zemo could be targeting U.S. Agent, or Bucky with his wrath? Who knows what crazy scheme he has cooked up this time around if any?

I’m happy to see Daniel Bruhl back in the MCU as well, just because he is a phenomenal actor. I thought Bruhl (Hemsworth too) was brilliant in Rush playing Nikki Lauda. I have not seen Angel of Darkness yet, but I would watch it just for Bruhl. For me he just has that ‘magnetic’ persona on film reminding me of Hollywood stars of the past.

What do you think of Bruhl’s comments? Are you happy seeing him wear the Zemo mask in Falcon and The Winter Soldier? Leave your thoughts below as always.
