Daredevil: Born Again And Spider-Man 4 Plot Links | Barside Buzz

Some Barside Buzz around rumored Daredevil: Born Again and Spider-Man 4 plot links going forward. Check it out.

Some Barside Buzz around rumored Daredevil: Born Again and Spider-Man 4 plot links going forward. The information comes from TCC podcast and makes several claims about Daredevil: Born Again, the plot at large, and how that fits into Spider-Man 4.

I’ll try to go through them one by one for those who don’t watch the podcast.

According to the outlet, Echo was a “pilot project” whose response has led to Marvel pursuing more mature projects. An episode of Echo was cut that focused on Bonnie which had a conflicting tone that focused less on Echo. Apparently it was cut as it would have felt like filler.

Echo‘s story was supposed to tie more into Daredevil: Born Again. This was connecting directly into what it was originally going to be the story of Born Again, but not what it will be now. According to the outlet, it would have made episodes of Born Again feel more like a prequel until the midseason where it would have caught up. There was more in Echo originally we’ve heard from a few sources that connected her to Matt as being in her corner from NYC.

More of the criminal underworld will be seen going forward. As Mayor, Fisk will have to give up on some of his assets as he becomes under more public and federal scrutiny. These assets will be taken over by others in the criminal underworld. Whoever these are, the outlet says they have for the most part not yet been introduced.

They claim one of these will be a villain in Spider-Man 4, who has never before been adapted into live action. Now this does tie into other rumors that say Fisk is the untouchable mastermind in Spider-Man 4 but not the main villain.

Who this criminal may be is up for debate. With connections to Spider-Man we could be looking at Hammerhead, Tombstone, Silvermane or even someone like Mac Gargan. After all in the MCU Gargan is already established as someone who is a career criminal and hates Spider-Man. Or could Scorpion or some other super bad guy get hired by the criminals to take out Spider-Man? However, it does appear there are genuine plot links between Born Again and Spider-Man 4.

As for the canon status of the Netflix Defenders shows? The whole thing is still a work in progress, as Marvel is still figuring out what will be referenced in Born Again and what will be discarded as if it never happened.

Daredevil is the Defenders series Marvel aims to keep the most of as canon. Whereas parts of the other series may be changed if needed. But the plan is to maintain the canon where possible.

They also reference D’Onofrio’s recent comments that the Defenders shows are now canon. TCC says, this isn’t exactly bang on accurate.

TCC claim Foggy and Karen were always going to be in Born Again. However, not to the extent that they will be now. (Hmm, I am almost positive no one was claiming Karen would appear whatsoever and that she would have died off screen.) Alex hints that the plan to kill them off is no longer the case and they will be more involved.

Ultimately they say Born Again is not Season 4 of Daredevil. This is it’s own thing, but they want it to be as good as Daredevil 1-3 and match where possible.

So, those are the rumored Daredevil: Born Again and Spider-Man 4 plot links going forward. What do you think of these latest rumors? Thoughts below as usual.
